A grand literary and cultural program was organized in Bangkok by ‘Sahitya Man Thailand’ to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami and Saraswati Puja. The event, held on January 23, 2026, saw a significant gathering of literary figures and distinguished guests from Nepal, Thailand, and Myanmar.
Guests and Dignitaries The program was graced by the eminent Guruvar Shri Chaitanya Krishna from Nepal as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the spiritual significance of the day and the importance of preserving Nepali language and culture abroad. Ramesh Shiwakoti from Thailand attended the event as the Special Guest.
The event also welcomed several distinguished guests from Nepal, including Kishore Pahadi, Murari Sigdel, Suman Thapa ‘Sangam’, Snehi Shiv, and Kalpana Magar. Furthermore, Kailash Poudyal represented the Nepali literary community from Myanmar.
Literary Recitations One of the highlights of the program was the soulful recitation of literary works. Prominent local writers and poets from Thailand, including Mira Ghimire, Raj Poudel, Ravichandra Adhikari, Vijay Bamrel, and Bhimlal Khanal, presented their creations, adding a rich literary flavor to the celebration.
Program Chairmanship and Moderation The event was presided over by Om Prakash Neupane, President of Sahitya Man Thailand. The proceedings of the program were smoothly moderated by Yogendra Poyekar and Dipa Rana.
The celebration concluded with a sense of community and a commitment to continue promoting Nepali heritage in the diaspora.
