Bangkok, Thailand—The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued a high alert for heavy rainfall, flash floods, and landslides in various regions of Thailand. As the monsoonal trough sweeps through the country, residents are urged to take necessary precautions.

In Phuket, a recent landslide impacted eight homes in the Kuku area. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the incident highlights the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable land management.

The affected provinces include Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Loei, Nong Khai, Nakhon Sawan, and others. Residents living near waterways, mountain slopes, and low-lying areas should exercise caution.

Mariners in the upper Andaman Sea are advised to stay ashore due to strong winds and waves. The TMD provides real-time updates via its website and helpline (0-2399-4012-13 and 1182).

Let’s stay informed and prioritize safety during this critical weather event.
