Dhaka, Bangladesh – A violent clash between students and Ansar members in Dhaka has left nearly 40 people injured. The confrontation erupted near the Raju Memorial Sculpture at Dhaka University and escalated as students marched towards the Secretariat.

The conflict began when students attempted to rescue several coordinators of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement, who Ansar members had detained. The students accused the Ansar members of acting as “agents of autocracy” and demanded their release.

As tensions rose, both sides engaged in a series of chases and confrontations, resulting in numerous injuries. The Ansar members had been protesting for the nationalization of their jobs and had blocked the entrance to the Secretariat, further fueling the unrest.

Authorities are investigating the incident, and the situation remains tense as both sides call for justice and resolution.
